Welcome to the Maine High School Hockey Invitational

Our Mission

            The mission of the Maine High School Hockey Invitational (hereafter referred to as MHHI) is to provide a platform on which talented High School hockey players can be seen by Junior, College and Professional scouts.  Though hockey is the central theme of this tournament, we also emphasize the importance of academics and community involvement.  These three central factors of the tournament are intended to help facilitate college admissions for the participating athletes. 

            The tournament’s inaugural year drew in six (6) Maine High School Hockey teams, with the objective of bringing Maine hockey teams together at one venue to be seen by scouts.  Since our commencement in 2000, this event has expanded to include up 50 teams from all over the East Coast and Canada.  With the expansion of the tournament we are proud to announce that our goals and motivations have remained the same.  Our goal is to get our participating student-athletes maximum exposure to College, Junior, and Professional programs, while our motivation is to facilitate their movement to the next level of their hockey or college career.

            Those student athletes who do not wish to move to the next level in their hockey career also benefit.  This tournament gives student athletes the opportunity to see a different kind of hockey and play talented, yet unfamiliar teams, who they would not normally have an opportunity to compete against.  These athletes are given the unique opportunity to play in a notable tournament against national and international competition.  They also have the opportunity to create connections with College scouts and other athletes from around the US and Canada, while bonding and building with their own team and coaches.

            Teams that participate in our tournament are guaranteed three (3) games, but have the option of declaring that they would like to participate in a fourth (4) game.  The tournament is not round robin format, there is no declared winner.  We match up teams based on skill level.  One of our main goals is to make the competition from game to game as good as it can possibly be.  We also guarantee that teams will not face other teams that they might see during their regular season.  If you are interested in participating in our annual tournament please don’t hesitate to contact our organization with any questions that you may have.
